Operating around the world since 1984 under the direction of Peter Walker, Telluride Mountain Guides are a group of outdoor professionals who gravitated to Telluride, Colorado for the unparalleled splendor of its mountain environment.
We love to climb, we love to ski, we love to explore. The high peaks, the proximity of the desert, the unique pace of life and the passion of the people keep us here.
More importantly, we love to share our knowledge and understanding of Telluride and the San Juans and are committed to being a part of your perfect vacation.
Our guides are experienced, qualified adventure leaders who work and play year round in the outdoor industry and maintain high levels of certification, including avalanche training, professional ski certifications and education though the American Mountain Guides Association. All have current Wilderness First Aid, and most have WFR or EMT certifications to ensure your safety in the backcountry.
Completing the experience are our guides who are great people to be with-- fun, knowledgeable and committed to making the most of your time in the outdoors, whether you are scrambling to the summit of a fourteener, hiking through meadows of wildflowers, snowshoeing through the aspens or ascending a desperate ice pillar.
